| BEFORE YOUR SESSION Style I shoot artistic poses, versus basic posed portraits with smiles that are not natural. Direction will be provided, however I encourage the model or models to be spontaneous, and let things happen naturally. Your session will be relaxed with a minimal use of props. Studio sessions simply use a black, white, or blue background, no 'mall-style' painted backgrounds. Location Portrait sessions are available in your home, or another location of your choosing. Scheduling All portrait sessions are by appointment only. Appointments are available Mornings, Afternoon or Evening, weekdays and weekends. For outdoor sessions, mornings or early evenings are best, avoiding the intense midday sun. If for some reason you need to cancel an appointment, contact me at least 24 hours prior to your session. I will be glad to reschedule your appointment. Sessions can last up to 3 hours, so there is plenty of time for clothing changes, or just time to relax and get comfortable being in front of the camera. What to Wear For the best results, keep your clothing choices simple. Try to avoid Logos or patterns. If there are two or more subjects, try to coordinate their clothing. For maternity sessions, avoid wearing pants with elastic waistbands prior to your session. A black or white button-up shirt is ideal for exposing your belly, which is the main focus of the image. Fabric wraps also work well for maternity portraits. AFTER YOUR SESSION Proofs During your session, I'll take as many pictures as possible to ensure we capture just the right moment. Most proofs are ready within a week of your session. Proofs consist of a CD containing each image from your session that you can view on your computer. If you do not have a computer, I will be happy to let you view your proofs on my laptop. The proof CD is yours to keep. Ordering Prints Take up to 30 days to view your proofs and decide which prints you would like to order. When you have decided, please call me to schedule a time so we can sit down together and go over your order. At this time we will discuss cropping, sizes, and finishes. A 50% deposit is required before images are printed. Most print orders will be ready within 2-3 weeks of placing your order. All prints are available in color, black and white, sepia tone, or selective color (cost of selective color images are slightly higher). Collages are available as well. All of the images from your session will be archived, and can be reordered at any time. FAQ: What is included in the session fee? Your session fee covers your initial consultation, by phone, email, or in person, to discuss your needs and expectations. It also includes the photographer's time during the session and for post-production work. Post-production work includes preparation of the CD that contains low resolution proofs that you can view on your computer, and basic editing of images. How many photos do you take during a session? I shoot exclusively digital, so there is virtually no limit to the number of photos that can be taken during a session. This means we are more likely to capture the perfect shots you are looking for! What are your prices for packages? At Digital Artwerks©, we do not offer packages. This leaves the decision of which prints to buy to you, the customer. There is no need to purchase a package that contains prints you don't want. This also means that the days of only being able to choose 3 or 4 poses for your prints are over! Will my session be rushed? No. I don't schedule more than 2 sessions per day, so your session will not be rushed. Sessions last up to three hours, which leaves plenty of time if needed. I try to promote a casual, relaxed atmosphere so that you look as natural as possible. What if I need to reschedule? If for some reason you need to cancel an appointment, please try to contact me at least 24 hours prior to your session. I will be glad to reschedule your appointment. Do I get real prints or prints from an inkjet printer? Your final prints are printed on Archival Lustre or Glossy paper, or Metallic paper, with the exception of the Fine Art prints, which are printed with archival, wide-format inkjet printers. Your preview contact sheets are printed on glossy photo paper with an inkjet printer. When will my proofs be ready viewing? Most proofs will be available within a week of your session. When will my finished prints be available? Most print orders will be ready within 2-3 weeks of placing your order. Rush orders are available. I have a pimple that showed up this morning. Can you get rid of it? Yes, of course. Most minor retouching is included in the price of your final prints. This includes acne, wrinkles, scratches, bruises, or other minor imperfections. |
